At Print Guy we are keen to do our bit to help the environment and we proactively encourage our clients and suppliers to do the same.

We don’t have a formal environmental policy like many printers, because we are not experts and many policies consist of vague claims & dodgy science. We use common sense, it’s not rocket science.

Whenever possible Print Guy will supply a printed product on recycled paper.

The fact is printing is going green, printers who resist this change will wither, ever more knowledgeable consumers demand less environmentally damaging products. As printing companies up-grade their presses and peripheral machinery, technological developments lessen the environmental impact.

The easiest way for you, the consumer, to act more environmentally friendly, is to specify recycled paper. Here are just three reasons for using recycled paper:
• Producing recycled paper uses up to 70% less energy than virgin paper, as well as using far less water - Source Friends of the Earth
• Reduce landfill - using recycled paper stops waste paper going to landfill. Landfills are a source of methane gas, which are a contributor to global warming. What is equally important is that landfill sites are rapidly becoming full, and fewer new sites are available.
• Using recycled paper is an efficient use of resources and protects old growth forests from logging. Placing less strain on global forest resources and reduces the amount of virgin pulp required. Although forests are increasingly managed in a sustainable way there is a need to reduce wastage by using more recycled content

There is now an enormous choice of recycled paper - ranging from paper that has around 50% up to 100% recycled fibre, the balanced of fibre being virgin pulp
Commonly used brands of recycled papers are 9 lives, Revive & Greencoat, which all have, silk, gloss and uncoated within their range

There are even papers made from Elephant & Rhino poo!
